Island Bridal Session

Filed under: Uncategorized — tammykoukoulis @ 1:46 am

This post is very late, but here it is.  Brian and I did an awesome bridal shoot on a little island in the bay.  We set out the day after Thanksgiving for a super fun boat ride to reach our destination.  I have included some pics to show the type of diffusers we used.  You can clearly see the gold reflection on the subject from the gold diffuser .  Too Fun!!!  Please check out the pictures below.

I checked out Mike Colon’s blog today and found this awesome quote about prayer that really touched my heart.  It really encouraged me in knowing that although I deal with struggles and heartaches in my life, God is constant and my relationship with him is the most important and by cultivating my relationship with Christ, I become a better mother, friend, daughter and photographer.

“When thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and pray to thy Father which is in secret.” Matthew 6:6

Jesus did not say – Dream about thy Father in secret, but pray to thy Father in secret. Prayer is an effort of will. After we have entered our secret place and have shut the door, the most difficult thing to do is to pray; we cannot get our minds into working order, and the first thing that conflicts is wandering thoughts. The great battle in private prayer is the overcoming of mental wool-gathering. We have to discipline our minds and concentrate on wilful prayer.

We must have a selected place for prayer and when we get there the plague of flies begins – This must be done, and that. “Shut thy door.” A secret silence means to shut the door deliberately on emotions and remember God. God is in secret, and He sees us from the secret place; He does not see us as other people see us, or as we see ourselves. When we live in the secret place it becomes impossible for us to doubt God, we become more sure of Him than of anything else. Your Father, Jesus says, is in secret and nowhere else. Enter the secret place, and right in the centre of the common round you find God there all the time. Get into the habit of dealing with God about everything. Unless in the first waking moment of the day you learn to fling the door wide back and let God in, you will work on a wrong level all day; but swing the door wide open and pray to your Father in secret, and every public thing will be stamped with the presence of God.

Catching Up

Filed under: Uncategorized — tammykoukoulis @ 5:01 am

I apologize for not updating my blog until now.  I have been very busy these past few months.   I have posted some pic’s to give you an idea of how my time has been spent this holiday season.    I wish I had the energy to write a worthy post, but the words just aren’t here.   I certainly am not complaining, I feel so blessed to be busy in our  economy.

My URS friends and I had an awesome opportunity to give back.  We each adopted a child from the Florida Baptist Children’s Home  for Christmas and bought gifts from a list provided by the children.

I did find time to bake cookies with my children and Nana was over to help.

God Bless!!!

This photo was taken by my Aunt and emailed to me.  It was taken at my cousin’s house on Thanksgiving Day.

It’s time to take a breath.

It has been an unbelievelably overwhelming week.  I have been going non-stop.  I had every intention of slowing down this Christmas to enjoy the Holiday Season with my children and family.

My Mom was in town this weekend, so I invited everyone over Saturday night for dinner.  I had a graduation to attend for Southeastern University in the AM and then a bridal shoot in Orlando after that .  I always start  around 3:00 with the expectation of a two hour shoot.  This shoot was so amazing, that we just kept shooting and shooting until around 8:30.   When I was finally alone in my car, I started praying and thinking about how quickly time slips away .  My mom was leaving the next day,  and I had barely seen her.    I arrived home around 9:30 to a full house of family.  My brother and his family, my cousin and her husband, a few friends and children running around playing.  My Uncle John had been there earlier and had already left.    I had missed most of my own hosted party.  I went into the kitchen to get a glass of water and I looked out over the counter at a room full of people……. my family.   I was exhausted from a full day of work, and very sensitive.  I started tearing up and then crying.   After lots of hugs and encouragement from yes…my family.  I shook off my sadness and went outside by a cozy little fire in the fire pit and spent the rest of the night chatting about old times and promising to get together more often.

This Christmas, I want to make a special effort to glorify the lord.  I want to instill the importance of Christ’s birth in my children.  God blessed me with an amazing family.    I pray I can give back and please God.

God Bless!
