Happy Thanksgiving!

Filed under: Uncategorized — tammykoukoulis @ 5:58 pm

I have so many things to be thankful for.  I feel extremely blessed.  I am most thankful that my children have a heart for Christ.  I pray for Gods protection of them and that he guards their hearts.

It is finally camping and bonfire weather.  My kids love to camp out.  We recently camped out with a bunch of friends and had an awesome time.

I am attaching a preview of our family Christmas card this year.  I have also attached a video a fun bonfire with friends and family.   We had fun singing praise and worship songs and roasting marshmellows.keeper-card-1

Farewell Football – First Season Complete

Filed under: Uncategorized — tammykoukoulis @ 2:14 am

This was Ryan’s first season playing football.  He really put his heart into it and had fun.  He admires Tim Tebow and hopes to play for the University of Florida some day.  I am a big football fan myself, so I was stoked when Ryan said he wanted to play.

My Dad loves to tell the story of he and I watching football together when I was a kid.  He would let me stay up late to watch Monday Night Football with him.  We were Miami Dolphin Fans, and I remember going to bed in tears when they would loose.  I still vividly remember, at 9 yrs. old, asking my dad if he thought I could be a Pro Football Player some day.  He said, “Girls are not allowed in the NFL”., and I was crushed.  At the sight of tears he quickly changed his answer to “You can do anything you set your mind to”.  (Too funny!)

I am happy to report that I no longer desire to play Pro Football; however, I love to watch Ryan play and  I truly enjoy practicing with him.  He is teaching me how to put a spiral on the ball.  Too fun!

I praise God for all his blessings and for his amazing love.

God bless!!!

A day at the Beach

Filed under: Uncategorized — tammykoukoulis @ 11:37 am

Beach sessions are so cool. They give me a great excuse to pack up the kids, Nana and my camera equipment to make a weekend of it.  This weekend was great!  The Justice Family (very cool last name) could not have been more fun. Little Miss “S” is absolutely adorable!!!!

We were a little worried it would be difficult to get to the beach because of the Ironman Triathlon in Clearwater Beach, so we moved our shoot form Clearwater Beach to St. Pete Beach.  I really hoped to see part of the Tri, but Ryan had a football game and we did get into town early enough to hit Clearwater before the shoot.

This is the first time I have ever used a studio light (along with a portable battery pack) in a beach shoot.  Lights are sometimes necessary to light up the subjects, especially if there is a harsh backlight from the sun.  I am not a big fan of studio lights, however sometimes they are detrimental in achieving a great exposure.

I have not had a chance to go through all the pic’s, but I have attached a few.  More to follow!

Cross Country Race to Homecoming

Filed under: Uncategorized — tammykoukoulis @ 5:50 pm

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to follow the senior year of a truly amazing high school senior.  I will call her “Miss R”.  Her family volunteer their dental services once a month to provide care to the indigent. They are also supporters of Habitat for Humanity.

This young lady has no time for “getting her nails done.”  She is too busy running cross country, playing soccer, serving on the Lake Region High Student Council and working for Habitat for Humanity.  She made time to attend her homecoming dance last night with her running buddies and a few cute fellows (just friends of course).

I spent all morning Saturday (6:30 AM – 11:00 AM) shooting the Lake Region High-Cross Country Race.  I had an amazing time.  The girls were awesome!  I was escourted around by the coach on his golf cart to get to the various locations to intercept the runners.    We talked about running and the different races he participates in.  I have been invited to run with them two days a week this summer. Too fun!!!!

After that, I picked up my children and took them to the grand opening of the Polk Nature Park at the Circle “B” Trail (just off of Winter Lake Road in Lakeland).  We were joined by my best friend and her 3 children.  We visited the various vendors booths, i.e. butterfly enclosure, tree climbing, various water conservation tents, Polk County Utilities, Lakeland Electric, etc. (reps from many different organizations were there to celebrate the grand opening).     Awesome park!!!!

After all the fun at the Park, I watched the Gators beat the Bulldogs (Go Gators!!!!!), and I prepared to shoot “Miss R” and her friends before they left for their homecoming dance.  I made it home by 7:30.

God Bless!!!
