It was so beautiful today that I decided to drive to Mt. Rainier. I was planning to spend the day in Seattle, however I did not want to pass up a rare chance to get Rainier on a clear day with an unobstructed view of the summit. As I was hoping, the mountain was clear with just blue sky as a back drop. I can not describe the awe inspiring view or the feeling of knowing that I may possibly be at the top of this mountain in a few days. As fearful as I am, I rest in the knowledge that God is with me.
There is a weather system forming and expected to move into the area early Monday with the possibility of it hanging around until Wednesday. Hopefully we will begin our climb Wednesday and wrap it up on Thursday. I am praying for Gods favor.
It’s finally here! I have been training to climb Mt. Rainier for over 6 months. My group is scheduled to trek up the mountain in 5 days. I will begin my ascent Wednesday, August 27th and I hope to successfully reach the summit on my birthday, August 28th. Mt. Rainier is 14,410 ft active volcanic mountain. The mountain generates its own weather and conditions need to be favorable to even begin the ascent. I am praying for optimum weather conditions for climb safety and for awesome pictures.

I photographed sweet baby Delaney this past Sunday. What a great session. Delaney was on her best behavior. I understand from her mommy and daddy that she is not typically so subdued. God’s favor was upon us. She slept most of the session, but then opened her beautiful baby blues just long enough for me to grab some shots.. Check out this slide show. Enjoy! You have to admire the ingenuity of these young surfers. They did not let lack of the ocean waves keep them from getting their boards in the air. Too Cool. These guys live in my neighborhood and you truly never know what you will see them doing next. I can’t wait to see what they are up to in about 15 years. Too fun!!!
